London, 07 November 2018: EduMe, the award-winning mobile-first training platform, has today announced a $1.8 million seed funding round led by Connect Ventures, one of Europe’s leading early stage investors whose portfolio includes Citymapper, Typeform and Marvel.
EduMe is Uber’s preferred training platform across EMEA and has proven to increase drivers’ productivity and quality of service, whilst saving time and money for both Uber and the drivers. EduMe today also announced that the UK and Germany are the most recent Uber markets to start using its platform.
Jacob Waern, Founder and CEO of EduMe comments: “I’m very excited to welcome Connect Ventures as investors in EduMe. Their distinct product focus, experience and great track record makes them exactly the partner we’re looking for. We have witnessed strong product market fit and this capital raise will allow us to further exploit the potential in these opportunities. This includes continuing to support companies like Uber, which is a good example of the changing nature of the workforce; 50% of the global workforce will be mobile by 2020 and 50% will be made up of millennials. We use our smartphones for all our needs and it’s time to expect the same convenience from corporate training. Training and engaging your workforce should be accessible and easy and that’s what EduMe is all about.”
Pietro Bezza, Managing Partner, Connect Ventures, who will join the Board of director says: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Jacob and the team at EduMe. They have built a product users love and that redefines how companies communicate with and train their remote workforce.”
Taryn Morris, Regional Operations Lead, Uber says: “We continuously look for new ways to enhance the driving experience and help drivers make the most of their time on the road. The EduMe microlearning platform provides an exciting opportunity to support hundreds of thousands of drivers across EMEA, in their daily interactions with riders and our technology”.
At EduMe, we're rethinking corporate training and communication so that it reflects how we work, where we work and how we consume information. Our vision is to make learning easy and accessible for today’s workforce. Leading companies like Uber rely on EduMe’s mobile-first, microlearning platform to train their workforce. EduMe is based in London, UK.
